With the intelligent systems of Route42, we can improve our decision making on the basis of the obtained data. The results of the pilot were so convincing that we will equip part of our trucks with the N-able and the N-dure trailers.

Breda, 14-05-2018, After an extensive and successful pilot, GVT Transport & Logistics (GVT) will link a large part of their fleet, trucks and trailers to the fleet Intelligence Platform of Route42. With this, the company takes a big step in working with real-time data and making decisions based on data. This allows GVT to better control costs and processes. For example, safe driver behavior and fuel use, remote reading of the tacho, but also insight into downtime and localisation of equipment.

Intelligent systems

Wil Versteijnen, director-owner of GVT: “More and more data is available about logistics processes. With the intelligent systems of Route42, we can improve our decision making on the basis of the obtained data. The results of the pilot were so convincing that we will equip part of our trucks with the N-able and the N-dure trailers. We see this as a first step in our partnership. GVT wants to continue innovating to improve the business and we do this together with Route42. ”

Saving fuel, safer driving and insight into equipment

The fleet manager and driver coach receive real-time notifications via the Route42 platform, so that they can take immediate action if necessary. Moreover, during the pilot in Tilburg it became clear that, especially on the ring road to and from the home base, breaking was seen more often. By coaching on this, the braking behavior has improved. That is more sustainable and safer. The unnecessary stationary consumption on site was also addressed because of to the pilot.

Finally, GVT can save a lot of time now that the company can use location data to see exactly at which of the five locations – Tilburg, Alkmaar, Apeldoorn, Veendam or Willebroek – their cars and trailer units are located.

No extra boxes in the car

The N-able is integrated into the current on-board computers of GVT. This ensures that only one CAN connection is needed and that still can be worked with the current tablets.
